Kawah Wurung & Baluran Trip
The Kawah Wurung & Baluran National Park Trip is a one-day trip that combines the charm of rolling green mountains with the exotic wildness of the African savanna. On this trip, you'll explore two iconic natural destinations on the eastern tip of Java Island, offering distinct yet equally stunning landscapes.
The journey begins in Banyuwangi and heads to Kawah Wurung, an inactive crater surrounded by vast grasslands and crinkled green hills. This area is often referred to as "Mini Bromo" due to its circular crater shape and dramatic views. Here, you can hike, climb to the observation tower, enjoy the fresh air, and capture moments with the ancient Ijen Mountains as a backdrop.
Afterward, the journey continues to Baluran National Park, nicknamed "Little Africa of Java." At Bekol Savannah, you'll witness vast expanses of grassland with the majestic Mount Baluran in the backdrop, and have the opportunity to see wildlife such as deer, peacocks, and banteng in their natural habitat. The trip concludes with a visit to Bama Beach, a pristine beach with mangrove forests and a photogenic wooden pier.

D1 . KAWAH WURUNG & BALURAN TRIP
9:30 AM – Arrive at Kawah Wurung, a hidden natural spot nicknamed "Mini Bromo." You can enjoy panoramic views of the expansive green hills and valleys, and climb the steps to the crater rim to view the expanse of the ancient Ijen mountains from above. The cool air and serene atmosphere make this a perfect place to unwind and enjoy the morning.
10:00 AM – From the ridge, you can climb the observation tower for a 360-degree view of Kawah Wurung and its surroundings. Enjoy free time to take selfies at some of the most photogenic natural spots.
11:00 AM – After exploring Kawah Wurung, the journey continues with a short visit to Kalipahit Waterfall. This waterfall flows from the Ijen Crater Lake, which has a high sulfur content, resulting in a unique deep green color. You can capture the moment with the backdrop of the rocky cliffs and the distinctive sound of trickling water.
12:00 PM – Lunch time at a local restaurant en route to your next destination.
1:00 PM – The journey continues to Baluran National Park. (A Jeep Safari option is available for those seeking a more memorable experience – *additional fees apply).
2:30 PM – Upon arrival at Bekol Savannah, you will be invited to climb the observation tower to witness the beauty of the savanna landscape with Mount Baluran in the backdrop. This moment is perfect for capturing photos, especially with the vast and natural wilderness.
3:00 PM – Explore several interesting spots in the Bekol area, such as the bull skull, dry trees, and other iconic landmarks that are popular with tourists for photos.
4:00 PM – Continue your visit to Bama Beach and the Mangrove Trail, where you can walk on a wooden bridge through the mangrove forest with its unique roots and enjoy the peaceful and natural coastal panorama.
4:30 PM – If you're lucky, you might spot wildlife such as deer, monkeys, or peacocks roaming freely in the savannah. Afterward, the journey continues, leaving Baluran National Park.
5:30 PM – Arrive back in Banyuwangi and be transferred to your hotel or the train station. The Kawah Wurung & Baluran tour program concludes on a memorable note.
